What you'll gain
Map, navigate, and safely modify unfamiliar or legacy code quickly, using AI as your guide.
- You'll use AI to explore and document an existing codebase, write tests to understand behavior, generate flow summaries, and build the mental model you need to contribute confidently.
When to use it
- New developer joining an unfamiliar codebase
- Reviewing an existing feature you didn't build
- Coming back to code you wrote months or years ago
You'll reach for it: Joining a new project or revisiting old code

Stop Reading, Start Asking
Reading an unfamiliar repo top to bottom takes a week and still doesn't give you the one answer you need today. We'll ask the codebase real questions instead, make the agent cite a file and line for every claim, and catch an answer that reads perfectly and turns out to be wrong.

2Get It Running First
A codebase you can't run is a codebase you can't learn, so the setup comes before any serious reading. We'll hand a cold clone to the agent, let it work out the stack and fix its own setup errors, then get it to write down everything the README missed.
